The undefeated Indian women’s team maintains the title of defending champions, winning the U-19 World Cup T20 twice and remaining unbeaten throughout the tournament. The Indian team dominated the tournament with its magnificent performance in the whole series.

But the team lost its composure in the beginning itself as PS Sisodiya took Simone Lourens’ wicket in the second over. After this, the continuous fall of wickets was a setback for South Africa.

However, Mieke Van Voorst tried to make a comeback for the team as she played with the strike rate of 127.78 (23 runs off 18 balls). Gongadi Trisha’s 3-wicket haul also contributed to limiting South Africa to the score of 82 runs.

Chasing 82 runs, India scored it in just 11.2 overs. Indian opener Gongadi Trisha gave a good start, securing 44 runs not out, and set a milestone achievement for India in the Women’s Under-19 World Cup. India lost one wicket of G. Kamalini at 8 runs in the fourth over. But Trisha and Sanika Chalke stayed at the last to make victory for India.

At the end, Gongadi Trisha is awarded as the Player of the Match for her brilliant all-round performance in the final, which played a key role in India’s dominating win over South Africa in the final. 15/3 with the ball and an unbeaten 44 with the bat, Trisha gets her deserving recognition.
