Virat Kohli’s wife, Anushka Sharma, and elder brother, Vikas Kohli, have reached Dubai on Sunday to watch India’s legendary cricketer Virat Kohli’s 300th One-Day match.
Virat is on the verge of adding another achievement to his career. After playing the final group-stage match against New Zealand in Dubai on Sunday, Virat will join the list of players who have played 300 ODIs. With this, he will also become the seventh Indian player to play more than 300 ODIs.
There was a lot of talk about Virat’s form in all formats during the preparation for the Champions Trophy. After a poor Test tour of Australia, Virat showed glimpses of regaining his rhythm in the three-match ODI series against England, but it was not enough to silence his critics. After this, he could only score 22 runs in 38 balls in the first match of the Champions Trophy against Bangladesh.
But Virat’s great innings finally raised the stakes against arch-rivals Pakistan in Dubai. Virat hit the winning runs with a shot as clean as a whistle, completing his 51st ODI century and also becoming the fastest player to score 14,000 ODI runs.
In 299 ODIs, Virat has scored 14,085 runs at an average of 58.20 and a strike rate of 93.41, including 51 centuries and 73 fifties.
His highest score in ODIs is 183 against Pakistan on March 18, 2012, during the Asia Cup in Mirpur, Bangladesh. Virat made it a habit of breaking records right from the start of his career.
Indian cricket legend Virat Kohli is also the fastest player to reach 8,000 runs in 175 innings, 9,000 runs in 194 innings, 10,000 runs in 205 innings, 11,000 runs in 222 innings, 12,000 runs in 242 innings, 13,000 runs in 287 innings, and 14,000 runs in 299 innings in ODIs.
